News About Maps Links

Hey it's me, Mr. I'm-Too-Lazy-To-Update-My-Website. Obviously it's been a year since my last update, but hey, why post news when there's no news to post about? Well now there's news. I just finished another map called Hexery, and yes, it was a request map from B(o )( o)Bz. It was originally started by a clanmate named W1s3.wad, but he quit mapping a while ago and gave me all of his materials, so I decided to do something with it. I may post the original map when I get around to finishing it.

Other than that, my mapping progress has slowed down to about 0, heh. Maybe I'm just getting bored of Half-Life. Hopefully when Half-Life 2 comes out I'll get back into mapping again. =)

I've got another map for you guys, and this one's a little different. It's called Hockey-Life, and it's a teamplay-only hockey game, complete with player models. It was another one of B(o )( o)Bz's crazy ideas (What would I do without him? =) ). As before, I worked on it bit by bit, and he ran playtests on his server. The reaction has been pretty good so far, but I'll let you be the judge.

It's waiting for you in the Maps section.

Surprise, another map. I just spent the last 3 weeks making a teamplay DM map called Frag'N'Fly. B(o )( o)Bz, the admin of the Genghis Cafe 2 teamplay server, had this great idea for a map that he really wanted, so we teamed up. He did most of the designing, and I provided him with alphatest versions to try out with his buddies. Gradually it went from a big empty box to a fully-functional map, and every aspect of it is just the way we wanted it. And people liked it so much, they were sticking TEST VERSIONS on their servers! (Oops) Plus several admins were waiting for the final version. B(o )( o)Bz has some really good ideas, and great insight into gameplay. I'd also like to thank the rest of the Genghis Cafe 2 regulars for their support. I'll probably end up doing this again sometime. =D

So... go over to the maps section and grab it!!

Happy New Year! It's time for a new year's update. James Boyd did a wonderful review of my Alien Unearthing map. You can find it in the Map Catalog section of his site: Hot Death Diner. I was so excited when I read it that I've decided to do a sequel, this time in an alien city. After all, I spent so much time making my own textures and sounds that it would be a shame to use them for just one map. So stick around for updates on Unearth 2!

It... is here. Alien Unearthing is finally done, after 3 months of work. If the fact that 5 people have already asked me to map for them isn't reason enough to download it, perhaps the preview pictures are. Go over to the Maps section and have a look!

I must say making this map has been pretty fun. Except for the 8-hour compiles. =( Since it's only my 3rd map, I also learned a lot about what works and what doesn't. It's surprising how much work can go into one stupid little thing, like making a timed sequence. Hopefully things will go quicker in the future. But I like how it turned out. =) BTW, if you would like to offer me a mapping job, I'm still open. ;)

Maybe now I can get a life... until my next map...

Alien Unearthing Beta 1 is done! The zip file is 3.4 MB. You can download it here and betatest it:

And here are some preview pics:
Preview 1: Mess Hall
Preview 2: Hallway
Preview 3: New and Improved Reactor
Preview 4: Small Room
Preview 5: Stasis Pods
If there's anything you think I should change or add, you can e-mail me. I should have version 1 out in about a week. Maybe more. It all depends on what you think of it! =)

I've moved! And I have a new design! changed its policies because it's full of bad, bad persons. As for Alien Unearthing, I'm nearly done, and I'll have a beta version out pretty soon. Don't wet your pants!

I have some early development pics of Alien Unearthing! Here are the links:
Preview 1: Plasma trickling down
Preview 2: Iris door opening
Preview 3: Reactor
Tell me what you think! ;)

Well, I've added some links, but I decided to scrap the FAQ. Who am I kidding? It's been almost 2 months since my last update! For the past few weeks I've been working on two maps: Matrix Urban and Alien Unearthing. Matrix Urban is an Action Half-Life map of the first scene of The Matrix, and Alien Unearthing is a Half-Life deathmatch map of an alien ship submerged at the bottom of the ocean. Unearth is going a lot faster than Matrix Urban, so I'm focusing on that right now. Expect to see some pics of Alien Unearthing shortly! ;)

I've been redoing the site lately. Half of the work is figuring out how to do it all! :D This is in fact my first post in the news section. The FAQ and Links sections will be coming next. Stay tuned...
